Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LuvScreen, LLC ("LuvScreen," "we," "our," or "us"), a Georgia limited liability company, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use our website, mobile-optimized web app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be 18 or older to use LuvScreen. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. See Section 10 (Children's Privacy) below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (a) information you give us directly, (b) information we collect automatically when you use the Service, and (c) information we receive from third parties you authorize.
1.1 Information You Provide
Account & identity information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, name, and (optionally) a profile photo. We receive a record of your account from Clerk and store the email, display name, avatar URL, and a unique identifier in our database.
Profile information. To use LuvScreen as a profile owner, you may provide a bio, date of birth, city, job title, school, height, interests, written prompt responses, and up to six photos. You choose what to share. Some of this information will be visible to anyone who has your public profile link.
Questionnaire content. As a profile owner, you create the questions that make up your "screen" — including the question text, answer options, scoring criteria, and any ideal-answer guidance you write to help us evaluate short-answer responses.
Submission content. As an applicant, when you respond to someone's screen we collect your answers (multiple choice selections, short-answer text, etc.), the resulting score, and the time of submission. If you opt in to "saved answers," we cache your most recent short-answer responses keyed to the normalized question text so you can autofill similar questions on other screens. You can disable saved answers at any time in your settings.
Trusted-circle (team review) information. If a profile owner invites you to be a reviewer, we collect your email address (from the owner) so we can send you the invitation, and — if you accept — your recommendations (Approve / Flag / Pass) and any notes you write about a submission.
Messages and attachments. Once a profile owner accepts a contact, the two parties can exchange messages through the Service. We store the text of your messages, any image attachments, the timestamps of when they were sent and read, and identifiers for the conversation participants.
Billing information (when applicable). If and when LuvScreen offers paid plans, payments will be processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment card number. We receive a Stripe customer ID, the plan you selected, and a record of plan-change events (upgrades, downgrades, cancellations).
Communications with us. If you email support@luvscreen.co or otherwise contact us, we keep a record of the correspondence and any information you choose to share.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
Authentication & session data. Our authentication provider (Clerk) sets session cookies that are strictly necessary for you to stay signed in. These are first-party cookies and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Server logs. Like most web services, our servers automatically log requests. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested, the date and time of the request, and similar diagnostic information. We use logs for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
Usage counters. To enforce plan limits, we keep rolling 24-hour counters of how many submissions you've received and how many reviews you've performed. These are aggregate counts, not individual records of each action.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
Clerk (identity). When you sign up or sign in, Clerk shares the basic profile information described above with us via a webhook signed by Svix.
Subprocessors generally. We do not buy personal data about you from data brokers and we do not enrich your profile with data from outside sources beyond what you and your authentication provider give us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service — create your account, render your profile, deliver questionnaires, score submissions, surface matches, deliver messages, and enforce plan limits.
- Score short-answer responses with AI — see Section 3 (AI Grading) below.
- Communicate with you — send transactional emails (e.g., team-reviewer invites, account notices, security alerts) and respond when you contact support.
- Maintain safety and integrity — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service; investigate safety reports.
- Improve the Service — diagnose problems, fix bugs, understand which features work, and develop new ones. We use aggregated, de-identified usage data for product analytics.
- Comply with the law — respond to lawful requests from courts, regulators, and law enforcement; meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- Enforce our agreements — apply our Terms of Service and protect the rights, property, and safety of LuvScreen, our users, and the public.
3. AI Grading
LuvScreen uses an artificial-intelligence model from Anthropic (Claude) to score short-answer responses on questionnaires. Here's what you should know:
- What is sent. When an applicant submits a short-answer response, the question text, the profile owner's ideal-answer criteria, the applicant's response (HTML-stripped and truncated to 2,000 characters), and the maximum point value are sent to Anthropic's API.
- What is returned. Anthropic returns a numeric score and a short reasoning string. We store both alongside the submission so the profile owner can see how a response was evaluated.
- No model training. Anthropic's commercial terms prohibit Anthropic from using your inputs or outputs to train its models.
- Why we use AI. It lets profile owners receive thoughtful, consistent evaluations of free-text answers without having to read every response themselves.
- Limitations. AI scoring is automated, can make mistakes, and is not a substitute for human judgment. Profile owners can override AI scores at any time, and AI grading has no decisive effect on whether a profile owner chooses to contact you — that remains a human decision.
If you do not want your short-answer responses processed by AI, please do not submit short answers on LuvScreen. Multiple choice, yes/no, multi-select, and ranked answers are scored deterministically and are not sent to Anthropic.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4.1 With Other Users
LuvScreen is, by design, a service that helps people share certain information with other people. The following will be visible to others as part of normal use of the Service:
- Your profile is visible to anyone who has your unique profile link. Your profile slug is randomly generated and is not listed in any public directory we maintain, but treat the link as you would any link you put on the internet — anyone you share it with can share it further, and search engines may index it if it is linked from a public page.
- Your submissions are visible to the profile owner whose screen you completed and, if the owner has enabled the trusted-circle feature, to the reviewers the owner has invited.
- Your reviews (if you are a trusted-circle reviewer) are visible to the profile owner who invited you.
- Your messages are visible to the other participant in the conversation.
- Display name and avatar appear in lists, conversations, and reviews.
4.2 With Service Providers (Subprocessors)
We share information with the following third-party service providers ("subprocessors") who help us operate LuvScreen. They are bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us.

Our hosting provider (where the application code runs and where logs are kept) may also process your information as a subprocessor.
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- enforce our Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations;
- detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of LuvScreen, our users, or the public.
4.4 In a Business Transfer
If LuvScreen is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by email and a prominent notice on our website) of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
4.5 With Your Consent
We may share your information with other parties when you direct us to or otherwise consent.
5. Your Choices and Controls
- Edit your profile. You can update or remove most profile fields at any time from your dashboard.
- Delete your photos. You can remove individual photos from your profile photo grid.
- Disable saved answers. Turn off short-answer autofill in your settings; existing saved answers will be deleted.
- Disable your profile. You can mark your profile as inactive so it stops accepting new submissions.
- Delete your account. You can request deletion of your LuvScreen account by emailing support@luvscreen.co from the email address on your account, or by using any in-app account deletion control we may provide. See Section 6 (Data Retention) below for what happens after deletion.
- Turn off email. Transactional emails (e.g., security notices, team-review invites) cannot be disabled while you have an active account, but we do not currently send marketing email.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
When you request deletion of your account, we will hard-delete your account, profile, photos, questionnaires, submissions, messages, saved answers, and other personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required to keep for legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, billing records that we are required to retain to comply with tax law).
Because the Service involves two-party conversations and submissions, deleting your account will affect content that other users have with you:
- Messages you sent will be removed from your account; the other participant in the conversation will no longer see them.
- Submissions you made on someone else's screen will be deleted, including the score and any AI reasoning.
- Reviews you submitted as a trusted-circle reviewer will be deleted.
We may retain anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
7. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. Photos and chat image attachments are stored in Supabase storage. Authentication is handled by Clerk and we never see or store your password.
No service can guarantee perfect security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. International Users and Data Transfers
LuvScreen is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
LuvScreen does not target users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. If you are located in those regions, you may still use the Service, and the rights described in Section 9 below extend to you to the extent applicable law requires.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights for all users globally where we are reasonably able to do so.
9.1 Rights Available to All Users
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete — ask us to delete your personal information (subject to the exceptions in Section 6).
- Object or restrict — object to or ask us to limit certain processing of your information.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time (this does not affect processing already done).
- Complain — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@luvscreen.co from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights:
- Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with. The "Information We Collect" and "How We Share Information" sections above provide this disclosure.
- Right to access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete your personal information, subject to exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger the right-to-limit.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing to opt out of.
To exercise these rights, email support@luvscreen.co. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we will require written proof of authorization and may need to verify your identity directly.
In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1, for the purposes described in Section 2, shared as described in Section 4, and retained as described in Section 6.
9.3 Other US State Residents
If you live in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, you have rights similar to those described above. To exercise them, contact support@luvscreen.co.
9.4 EEA / UK / Swiss Residents
To the extent the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies, our lawful bases for processing are: (i) performance of a contract with you (operating the Service); (ii) our legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the Service, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; (iii) your consent where required; and (iv) legal obligations to which we are subject.
You have the rights listed in Section 9.1, plus the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10. Children's Privacy
LuvScreen is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, do not use the Service or submit any information to us. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact support@luvscreen.co.
11. Cookies and Tracking
LuvScreen uses only essential cookies required for core functionality — primarily the session cookies set by our authentication provider (Clerk) so you can stay signed in. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to LuvScreen.
We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret them.
12. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to other websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site or service you visit.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (sent to the email associated with your account) or by posting a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the most recent version. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
